It’s still sunny in September and that’s a great sign! I love choosing my top beauty favourites to share with you every month, I never fail to find new or even fall back in love with old products. This month I am taking part in the SuperGorgeous picture a day challenge and today’s is the five product challenge bringing me nicely to the top five products for August ♥
First up is the Bobbi Brown extra repair eye-cream, this is a new product I bought this month and to be honest I don’t know why it’s taken me so long! This small pot is very rich and hydrating which is easily-absorbed making make-up application easy. The pot may look small but it is packed with peptides, natural plant oils and humectants to target fine lines, dryness and dark circles. I noticed a huge difference within days and I haven’t had to keep patting my concealer (you know what I’m talking about) throughout the day as it seems to sit right in place. I recommend using it in day on top of your moisturiser and before primer, under your eyes and at night all over the eye area including your delicate eyelids. Remember, a little goes a long way ♥
If you follow me on instagram you would have noticed that I have been a little obsessed with Illamasqua lately. That’s probably why two of the five beauty faves this month are Illamasqua! Generally I keep my nails neutral, but with all the amazing colours and trends out there at the moment I feel like I need to get involved! I love this shade called ‘Hemlock’ it is a subtle iridescent shimmer and gives an extra dimension as a top coat on darker colours. You have to try it! My next Illamasqua love this month is now in my everyday make-up routine, it’s the skin base concealer. I love the creamy texture and I only need to use the smallest amount to lift the darker area under my eyes and brightens instantly. I prefer to warm the product with my fingers and apply then gently pat it down with a concealer brush.
I do love my make-up tools, they are important and it’s important to have the right brushes for the finish and look you want. This month I have been obsessed with my real techniques shading brush, it is great for blending and shading out smokey eyes. I use it to blend my NYX jumbo pencil in ‘milk’ (raved about in May favourites) which I use to highlight my brows.
My final favourite this month is one a got in my glossybox (review coming up!) The Oceane Make-up Remover Pen from Brazil is actually not available in the UK yet but it is great for fixing that smudged eye-liner or mascara (that moment your eyelashes hit your eyelids) just don’t forget to blend back your powder or eye-shadow as this pen removes layers of make-up!
