My First Birchbox Review ♥

As a beauty blogger, I do love a monthly beauty box! Until recently I used to enjoy my monthly glossybox but decided it was time for a change. I saw a perfect opportunity when I had seen a few reviews about the January Birchbox, noticing it had a mini porefessional primer this swayed me to sign up for Birchbox straight away!

My First Birchbox Review ♥

I love the Birchbox packaging, it looks so eco-friendly and effortlessly cool, I did miss the ribbons and tissue paper from Glossybox slightly but I love the cute little pouch that hold all the mini beauty samples. I received the January and February box about 2 weeks apart so here is my joint Birchbox review ♥

January’s box was called Tiny Tweaks, inspired by new years resolutions and making those little changes that make all the difference in beauty and lifestyle. Focussing on the little changes we can make everyday but when we reflect back at the end of 2014 they would have made the world of difference…hopefully!

My First Birchbox Review ♥

Beekind Body Lotion – with this body lotion you will have no problems remembering to moisturise your whole body after showering. It has a subtle citrus scent and keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day and has natural ingredients such as honey and organic chamomile.

Lavera hand cream – hand cream in the cold winter months is essential and this one has organic shea butter and almond oil. Whenever your hands feel dry or you get a moment, take time to moisturise your hands.

Blanc Cachemire Crème de Jour – this lightweight moisturiser has a refreshing scent, almost like cucumber. It provides a gentle approach to anti-ageing making your skin cells produce tighter and firmer skin. There is no excuse for not using a moisturiser every day.

Benefit, Porefessional – even though I already have a full size version of this with a full review which you can read here, I was still so excited to receive a mini version to take on holiday! A good primer creates a barrier between your skin and your make-up, meaning less clogging of pores and dirt on your face. Available from BirchboxDebenhams, John Lewis, feel unique and ASOS.

Philip Kingsley conditioner – a weightless conditioner, left my hair feeling salon smooth and super shiny. Just the right size for my week long holiday! It is important to look after your hair throughout the year, conditioner will keep hair healthy and shiny. Available from BirchboxJohn Lewis, Feel Unique and lookfantastic.

February is all about London Fashion Week and Valentines! It is the month of trying new trends and having fun with your own style for the new season.

Leighton Denny Nail Colour – as well comprising of some stunning shades this polish is long-lasting, chip resistant and easy to apply. The colour seems to very easily even itself out once applied, look for my nail updates on Instagram.

Gilchrist & Soames Shower Gel – the mini version reminded me of the luxury shower gels you get in posh London hotels, it does have a nice strong scent that lingers on your skin but it’s not a girly enough scent for me.

Urban Veda Skincare Review ♥

Urban Veda Facial Polish – I have tried the whole radiance range from Urban Veda and I love it, the scent in particular. The facial polish was the only product I hadn’t yet tried so I was really pleased! This is a great exfoliator just like the rest of the radiance range.

My First Birchbox Review ♥

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – I love this product and this is definitely my favourite Birchbox product by far! Perfect for creating the perfect Alexa Chung flick, cat-eyes or the barely there liner look. It is so easy to use and the the jet black lasts all day. Love it! Available from Birchbox,  Selfridges, ASOS and Feel Unique.

Beauty Protector Oil – the ultimate oil to protect hair against UV rays, heat from blow-drying, curling and straightening then of course general breakage. It smells great too and it doesn’t make your hair feel greasy or stiff after using it.
