Fascinated by the femininity of the 1920s and Gatsby-esque flirtation along with the modern touches of sparkle and realism, the new Autumn Winter collection by Reiss, brings timeless pieces for the modern day woman.
Black is a key colour for the collection, worn with different textures such as jacquards, brocades, embellishment, luxurious shearling and key prints to add interest. Deep berry shades and autumnal tones with pops of cobalt blue instantly refresh the colour palette underpinned by softer shades of dusky rose.
It’s all about clashing fabrics and textures this season so leather on leather or leather with pure silk and beading on embellishment is key. Quilting can be seen on jackets, fur trims on coats worn over suiting to assure pieces have ‘simplicity from afar but a richness up close.’
Looking at the collection available online at the moment I have chosen my top five looks from their gorgeous and timeless collection.
I love this lace bodycon dress, it’s the perfect winter white statement piece, the figure-hugging style is overlaid with modern lace and a panel effect for perfect sculpting. ‘Cognac’ is a key colour in the Reiss colour palette this season, the peplum silhouette this season comes in butter-soft leather worn with a matching leather skirt for that leather on leather look. It looks understated cool rather than matchy matchy. I love how the bright cobalt blue lifts this colour palette instantly and these classic Reiss straight leg trousers are a wardrobe staple. They look great styled with a slouchy tee and nude heels for a casual look but would also look great for a more formal look with a crisp shirt and statement necklace. Clashing of fabrics, especially leather, was a key inspiration behind this collection. The two-tone style fitted dress is crafted from that same butter-soft leather and plain black fabric panels to enhance a great silhouette. One of my favourite pieces from the collection still has a hint of summer but I love this blush coloured maxi skirt, the mini pleats add flair to your strut and falls perfectly from the waist ♥
The amazing campaign images and video for the collection were created at two of London’s most treasured and historical theatres, The Savoy Theatre and The Royal Opera House. ‘Throughout the season a focus will be made of all the people who have graced these iconic stages, as well as the beautiful venues themselves.’
