‘Makeup should be a wardrobe. It’s about adding colours that have a great impact on you’ – Francois Nars
If you read my blog and watch my YouTube videos regularly you’ll know I am a huge fan of NARS, so when they announced a new limited edition range you can only imagine my excitement!
The new Nars x Christopher Kane collection is the 10-piece collaboration line using the signature style of Christopher Kane mixing bold neons with nudes, giving us Neonatural. This mix of neons and nudes was used backstage last September at the Christopher Kane’s Spring Summer show.
This collection is vibrant yet subtle, if you’re not into neons this is the range for you…yes I said that right! The blush even though it’s neon pink, looks so natural on the cheeks. If you want a brighter pop of colour you can simply build the colour but it works with your skin tone and blends to give you a natural pink flush across your cheekbones. When I first saw the bronzer, named Silent Nudes, I wasn’t entirely convinced it would add warmth to my skin tone let alone contour my face! I was however pleasantly surprised by its subtle sculpting effect, there is no orange undertone to it creates a shadow effect on cheekbones which is exactly what you want when contouring. The highlight even though it’s lilac comes in the form of a Nars multiple which are just amazing! You do not even notice the lilac instead you notice a very subtle glow, not a shimmer but a subtle sheen.
Look at the sparkle in these eyeshadows, worn with a little bronzer in the crease just to add some contour to your eyes these look so pretty! Obviously my favourite has to be Outer Limits, with the nude peach undertone (the first swatch) all the above swatches have been done with just one swipe so the pigmentation and sparkle is quite intense. As bright as the lip glosses are, they are still subtle and quite sheer but once the gloss fades a subtle tint of colour is left on your lips. If you are wearing on top of a lipstick, the trick is to mix up your colours to give your lips some dimension. So if you’re wearing a coral lipstick, wear a pinky lip gloss like Mezmer and if you’re wearing a pink lipstick try pairing it with Nebulous which has an orange undertone.
Before I go, let’s just take a moment to admire the packaging…
