I have a London Fashion Week special today, some behind the scenes and exclusives from the Marcus Lupfer Spring Summer 2016 show. I was lucky enough to be invited by the TIGI Creative team for Catwalk to have a snoop backstage at the styling and products used to create ‘the look’ and then see the forthcoming range by Marcus Lupfer in an upclose catwalk setting.
The look was the contrast of textured hair against smooth and sleek. Hair was blow dried and kept in place with a net to create a tight shape around the skull. A sleek side parting was created with a slight hint of a quiff, the look was feminine cool and tough. Maria Kovacs who led the show for TIGI said, ‘We wanted the girls to look tough and strong but with a hint of femininity. We styled the hair very flat and controlled around the face with hair pulled back which conveyed a tough edge but we added a hint of a quiff and a side parting to bring out a softness for the final look.’
The show itself was intimate, the models posed in their space and the guests walked around taking pictures. I liked this set up as it meant I could get really close to take pictures of the hair that worked so well with the overal look of the collection.
The collection is monochrome with florals and wave detailing coming through. The theme of contrasting textures comes through in the collection too along with applique detailing. I can definitely see myself wearing pieces from the show and although the hair looked cool on the models, I don’t think I could pull that look off myself! Seeing images from other shows during London Fashion Week smooth and sleek hair is set to be an emerging trend ♥
