Skincare is the most important part of any beauty I think. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup but the makeup experience is so much more enjoyable when you have healthy skin and that comes with good skincare. For years I have used Clinique as my base skincare brand, it has always been good to my skin. I have also always found that the staff on Clinique counters from Boots to Selfridges are always really helpful, friendly and passionate about the brand with the exception of Debenhams in Derby (sorry to name and shame!)
Being a beauty blogger, I do try out a lot of other skincare brands and after a while I came to realise that I cannot change my routine over completely. I still try new brands but change a product at a time, always using at least one Clinique product otherwise I breakout.
I have always used the Clinique Moisture Surge range on and off whenever I felt my skin needed an extra hydration boost. Over the past few months however, I have really been loving the new formulation of the Clinique Moisture Surge. The new formula seems to give the skin more hydration in a gel like texture, it feels so cooling and comfortable on the skin. I would describe it as a glass of water or two for the skin. It absorbs quickly to meaning you can easily apply makeup over it but also (and this is the best part) if your full face of makeup feels a little bit dry during the day, you can apply the Clinique Moisture Surge on top of makeup and feel instantly hydrated. It absorbs quickly and does not ruin your makeup at all.
If I have been in an air-conditioned environment for a long period of time, I know my skin will get really dry usually causing me to break out. I like to leave a thicker layer on my skin overnight as a hydration mask and in the morning my skin looks radiant and feels boosted. Of course, whenever you feel like you need a real hydration boost a quick five-minute mask will also work wonders.
If you have not tried the Clinique Moisture Surge, I would highly recommend giving it a go. It is one of my holy grail skincare products.
