We are back to the oh so glamorous subject of hair removal. A couple of weeks back I shared my first impressions on the Philips Lumea Prestige, which I am still using, loving and will update you in a couple of months once I see true results.
Today I wanted to talk about what I do in between laser treatments and what gadgets I use. I mainly shave, with the exception of my bikini area which I can still wax and my upper lip which I thread. For my legs and underarms I have been using the Philips Satinshave which can be used wet or dry. I love the feminine design and the convenience of being able to use it wet or dry. So it can be used in the bath or shower, which is my preferred option but also on dry skin. So if I decide to last-minute get my legs out and need to shave I don’t have to go back in the shower. I tend to get quite dry skin on my legs so prefer to have a wet shave.
This is so quick and easy to use, the S shape design makes the shaver easier to hold and follow the contours of your body. Even the not so smooth areas like the knees get a nice close shave. The ‘floating foil’ allows the shaver to pick up the tiniest and finest hairs. After using the Lumea, you may find that your hair does get more finer so it is good to have something that gives you the close shave. The Satinshave comes with a bikini attachment too which is fab but I do prefer to use the new Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler as it is smaller and easier to manoeuver in such a small area. This is great for in between wax treatments when the hair is not the right length for waxing or if you need to spontaneously get into a bikini!
The Beauty Styler is small and so easy to use, it trims and shapes hair without having to worry about cuts in delicate areas. This can be used for unwanted facial hair including eyebrows, underarms and also the bikini area. There are two attachments, one for larger areas such as underarms and the bikini area and then the other for styling and shaping eyebrows, sideburns and even nostril hairs. All things us ladies need to think about even though we may not want to! I use this in between laser and wax treatments for my bikini area and I have now started to use it for my underarms as the hair is becoming very sparse.
I love the fact that it is battery operated so it is easy to travel with, not having to worry about adaptors and chargers. I also love the touch of pink making this another feminine and pretty gadget. It also comes with its own little pouch for easy portability and a pink protection cap.
Brow styling guru and High Definition Co-founder & CEO, Nilam Holmes-Patel, gave her beauty tip on how to achieve the perfect brows. ‘My top trick when using the Veet Sensitive Precision™ Beauty Styler on your brows is to draw in your desired brow shape using an eyebrow pencil and then trim around it – easy and effortless home styling‘.
