A few weeks ago I was invited for a Personal Styling session at John Lewis, Brent Cross. I had visions of the scene in Pretty Woman when all the shop assistants are throwing themselves at Julia Roberts! I had just the one lady and she was lovely. We walked around the shop floor of the womenswear department housing brands such as Mint Velvet, Adrianna Papell and the newest addtional Bruce Oldfield, picking out anything that took my fancy for me to try on.
I liked the Bruce Oldfield collection as it was very classic yet contemporary, think Chanel meets Victoria Beckham and the colour palette is very simple but very me. Predominantly black, grey and cream, sometimes the only colours you need!
The whole personal styling experience really helps you to understand what suits your body shape, colouring and style. You can still be trend focussed but need to find the right fit and silhouettes to suit you. The stylists are trained in colour, trends and body shape to help you on all these matters. The changing rooms have large mirrors, placed at different angles so you can really see yourself in the chosen outfits from different angles. Once Denise had seen me in a few outfits she knew exactly what my style was and put me in this gorgeous Adrianna Papell outfit, a gold lace top, a structured black skirt with a train and then she called up some killer heels from Dune.
If you find yourself struggling to find clothes for work, everyday or that special outfit for an event then I would definitely recommend the styling service at John Lewis. The team of experts will see you in things that you may not pick out yourself. For some extra style advice read my style tips here ♥
